Yes, those are roman numerals to symbolize the astounding 26th installment of Wrestlemania. Who would have thought back in 1985 that the WWE would be in this place? Well, I wasn't born yet, but I sure am pumped about being about to watch this Sunday's grand PPV.
-- Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker
The Career vs. The Streak
*Wow. This is going to be a big one. I definitely believe this goes on last. It's a border-line show stealer although it's not quite up to the last. But still a fanastic showing I think, shockingly, with a clean HBK win after two Sweet Chin Music's.
Winner- HBK by pinfall after about 20 minutes. ****1/2
-- WWE champion Batista vs. John Cena
WWE Title match
*I'm really looking forward to this with how great the build-up has been. It's been fantastic and despite really wanting Batista to win for the sake of the feud, Cena gets the huge baby-face win after a big AA, leading up to the huge main event.
Winner- Cena by pinfall after just under 20 minutes. ****
-- Bret Hart vs. Vince McMahon
No Holds Barred
*I think this goes on later in the card due to the mass time period it really involves. I can't wait for this like many but I predict a lot of interference and just a flat-out fun affair ending in the good ol' Sharpshooter.
Winner- Bret Hart via submission at about 13 minutes. ***1/2
-- World Hvt. champion Chris Jericho vs. Edge
World Hvt. Title match
*I honestly hope this gets a lot of time. I really do. But this could easily steal the show and if given the time, it could easily be match of the night and pull five stars. I'm going with the heel retaining at this point via pinfall with a code breaker. This feud continue after the PPV.
Winner- Chris Jericho by pinfall in 22ish minutes. *****
-- Triple H vs. Sheamus
*I'm happy to see Sheamus get a pretty big match on the card. I think it gets a fair amount of time and while Triple H could easily win, I'll go with a bit of a suprise and take the Celtic Warrior after the Razor's Edge.
Winner- Sheamus via pinfall in 15 or so minutes. Maybe less. ***
-- Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Ted DiBiase
Three-way match
*While this may have had the ball dropped recently, I still see it being a pretty good match. Hard to think Orton won't win but again, just for kicks, and because I think he may be due for a push, is Ted getting the win by pinning Cody with the Dream Street.
Winner- Ted Dibiase in 12 minutes via pinfall. ***
-- C.M. Punk vs. Rey Mysterio
Mysterio joins SES if he loses
*Another potential match of the night contender. I think unfortunately it won't get a ton of time but I say Rey gets the feel-good win but the feud continues after 'Mania. Possibly his son joining the SES. Rey with the 619 to be exact for the win.
Winner- Rey Mysterio in 10ish minutes via pinfall. ****1/2
-- Money in the Bank #1 contender ladder match
Raw brand: Kofi Kingston, Christian, Jack Swagger, MVP, and Evan Bourne.
Smackdown brand: Dolph Ziggler, IC champion Drew McIntyre, Matt Hardy, Kane, and Shelton Benjamin.
*Wow. Ten guys is REALLY stretching this but I see some AMAZING spots if they can think of how to use everyone. Man I sure hope no one gets hurt, heh. It'll be crazy, nuts, and full of "Holy Crap" moments. But despite loving Christian and wanting to see him or even Kofi get the win, I'm going with Drew Mac. He has a lot of potential too in my opinion.
Winner- Drew McIntyre in about 16 minutes. ****
-- Unified tag champions Big Show & The Miz vs. R-Truth & John Morrison
Unified tag title match
*To me this can be a pretty good warm-up match to get the crowd going. Morrison is over enough and he and the Miz have great chemistry. I don't care for R-Truth but the fans love him. Ugh. >.< But a good match nonetheless. Miz and Show however retain after Show knocks out R-Truth.
Winners- ShowMiz in 10 minutes via pinfall/knockout. ***
Now that we've already rolled on to the end of this preview, I will say that I believe that will be the card, top to bottom. I mean, this IS a prediction blog, might as well throw in another on eh?
I hope everyone enjoys this show as much as I know I plan to, and just for kicks, each of my grandparents have made a quick, single prediction below;
Jeannie Eaton says;
"I don't want Batista to win. No, no, no. I want Cena to win. Forget Batista. Batista is a man you love to hate. He's a big bully coward, all he does is flex those ugly muscles! Sheamus I have a feeling will win even though I don't like him. I'll go with Randy Orton winning too. Shawn Michaels ends the streak."
Moe Eaton says;
"Cena, Orton, and the Undertaker get wins. Randy Orton has gone from a sleazeball to a lovable character. Go get em' Randy!"
With that said, I'll still be more right than them. >.< I kid. And lookout for a diva's match in the preshow or possibly stuffed in near the end as a breather match. I don't think it will matter at all so I'll leave it at that. Also, no match under 3 stars? I think it can happen! Enjoy the show peeps!
